Quick answer: PDFsam Basic is the free edition for combining, splitting, extracting, rotating, mixing and inserting PDF pages. Modern Windows packages target 64-bit Windows 10 and 11.

Download and installation steps

  1. Confirm your Windows architecture in Settings → System → About.
  2. Choose PDFsam Basic rather than the Visual trial or Enhanced editor.
  3. Inspect the installer options. Some packages may offer an optional Enhanced trial.
  4. Install, launch, and test Merge or Split on sample non-sensitive PDFs.

Installer or portable ZIP?

A normal Windows installer adds the application to Windows; a portable distribution can be extracted to a directory. Select the package suitable for your requirements and check the current developer documentation.

Free without watermarks

PDFsam Basic does not add watermarks and has no application-imposed document size cap. Input file limits may still arise from memory, filesystem and PDF corruption.
